The camp as a whole is great for families that want to get away from it all, it has everything to offer from beach fishing and swimming to the same in the river, their are kayaks for hire to explore the muddy river further inland and quiet bush walks, all coupled with a scenic quiet outlook yet the city isn’t too far away.  Rosie and The Operator will definitely be returning for further exploration, when the weather is abit drier…….

You never tire of watching the movements in the Port, boats, people and tide come and go there is always something to see.  This campground has got to have one of the best 180 degree views in the world, we rented a powered site for $40 per night which gives us full access to the campgrounds amenity blocks, this include toilets and showers plus kitchens, TV rooms, BBQs and there is a fish filleting area as this is a campground that is a favourite with the fisherman.

American Musings – Convertibles

The only wind in my hair was the air con on full crank.  My next question was about the suspension…it seems pretty hard.  Yep, said The Operator, the only suspension this car has is the seats…they were very comfy, thank god.  An hour in, Rosie was still grizzling about the roof, The Operator said the only way we can travel with the top down is put both cases in the back seat with a seat belt around them….Rosie was pondering this when another red Chevy fresh from the airport collection depot pulls up along side us….sitting in the back seat was a pink polka dot suitcase next to a manly tartin one, belted in and all ready for an adventure…it screamed ‘stupid tourist hiring a convertible and not thinking about where your luggage goes’…it looked that stupid Rosie quickly abandoned that idea.
