Currently Rosie and The Operator are grounded. Just like everyone else in the World, we are sitting at home (in New Zealand) riding out the Covid 19 Worldwide Pandemic.
We had so many awesome travel plans for 2020, and were excitedly counting down the days till we took off. Like everyone else worldwide, those plans are all cancelled and, for the rest of the year, we will not be travelling anywhere internationally. The whole world is locked down, all air travel is literally grounded and country borders remain closed to everyone but their residents.
So, what does a self confessed addicted world traveler do when she cant travel the World? Relive her travels of course.
Lucky for Rosie last years journeys were not fully documented. Missing from her diaries is a whole section of travel through Slovakia, Romania and in between. They are all pre written, Rosie always writes her diaries daily whilst on the go. They just need some serious editing, pictures added and voila…a blog to remind us of our adventures is born. It has been a blessing to have this to do during this period of isolation and reinforces how amazing this world is, how lucky we have been to see so much of it and the knowledge there is still so much to see when the World reopens and it is safe to venture out again.
Its weird because the holiday Rosie is about to post happened exactly at this time last year…coincidence? Maybe, but its fab that it gives Rosie something to do and reminisce about.
As for you my friends….this is a warning to be prepared to be bombed with Rosie and The Operators last years travel stories! Then….fingers crossed, hopefully we will be able to strike out and explore our own country…sooner rather than later.
