Guadalupe is like a slice of heaven, it’s so quiet and peaceful as we wander the streets. The continual roar of traffic and buses that is the soundtrack of the Old Town is completely absent here. You can actually hear the birds and the flow of water in the river which we were down by today.

Today Rosie is going to introduce you to the rest of the town which is San Miguel de Allende. These are the streets that are adjacent to the Parroquia and Plaza Principle. These are the streets where daily life is lived and the numbers of picture snapping tourists are thinner.

Rosie and The Operator are driving forty minutes out of San Miguel de Allende to visit the town of Dolores Hidalgo. This town has acquired pilgrimage status for Mexicans as it was here that the Mexican Independence Movement was born in the early 1800s.

Rosie found it difficult living for one month here in Mexico. As a tourist it is fantastic, Rosie and The Operator wandered around and saw all the amazing sights, ate out every night and sampled some amazing fare, we were on holiday and we were having a ball.

I hate that I can understand Americans vacuous and shallow conversations. Normally all about themselves and what they have. Where they live here in the city, (its very important for pecking order on where you live in the city apparently, Rosie has learnt this through her unintentional eavesdropping). So many conversations on what they do, real estate values and gains they have made, what yoga studios, spas and vegetarian delis they frequent. Blah blah blah.
