No one smiles in Croatia.  No one looks happy.  The ladies here, countrywide, have perfected and are all total Queens of The Resting Bitch Face. Rosie has never seen such outwardly beautiful woman, young and old, look so unapproachable, sour, grumpy and down right mean with the world all at once.  The men are the same…just not so poisonous looking.

Croatia however take the humble track suit to a whole new level….these leisure suits are designer all the way.  Okay, not couture, but, labelled…you know Adidas, Nike, SuperDry, Tommy Hilfiger, emblazoned down a leg or boldly printed in an arch across the front or back.  The full leisure suit monty, matching tops and bottoms with a zippered front.

Rosie has been pondering the pros and cons of this.  The biggest pro is 5 months off, hey, who wouldn’t want that, awesome down time!  There are so many things you could do and places to travel to in 5 months.  Nearly half a year of not working, that sounds awesome!

How can Croatia be the New Italy, Croatia is Croatia!  Sometimes though you may be forgiven if you forget you are in Croatia and think you are on holiday in coastal Italy. Lets face it, this long ribbon of Croatian coastline is dotted with with the most beautiful, ancient 15th century…..Italian villages.  Its true, the Venetians ruled here forever and left its mark, literally, on this countries psyche and landscape.
