Rosie and The Operator are starting our year of travel adventures in Japan – Land of the Rising Sun.

Our mysterious, distant pacific neighbors are a country that has only just opened up to the west in the last 200 years.  Rosie’s limited impressions are of sushi, samurai, sake, origami, super technology geeks, anime, earthquakes, tsunamis, Fukushima, Hiroshima, cherry blossoms, geisha and the most scariest horror movies ever……pretty embarrassing list really……I cant wait to learn and experience more as we move through the country.

Japan Sushi Yen Asahi

Join us as we travel through the big centers of Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara and Hiroshima by bullet train.   We hire a car for the off the beaten track towns of Onomichi, Inuyama and Gujo-Hachiman, before travelling into the Japanese Alps for a hot spring retreat.  From there we are working our way to Takayama, where Rosie will be living for a month but not before doing abit of hiking on one of the oldest roads in the world, The Nakasendo Way.

Rosie normally blogs her travel diaries every couple of days as she travels.  This time around when Rosie is settled for her 28 days, she will publish the in depth travel diaries.

Rosie and The Operator cant wait to take you with us on our holiday and share our experiences!

(Feel free to follow us prior for daily shorter, snappier updates as we travel on our Facebook Page – Rosie and The Operator.)
